Hangzhou

While in Hangzhou we had a boat ride on beautiful West Lake. On one end was the booming city of Hangzhou and on the other side tree-covered mountains. Pagodas, and arch bridges were scattered around the perimeter of the lake. On the lake were these small covered paddleboats big enough for one Chinese family, called “pleasure boats”. The families were ecstatic to see us and waved at us from their boats.

Following the boat ride we visited a tea plantation. We learned one key fact. You don’t drink a cup of tea, but rather eat a cup of tea. The tea they gave us was amazing and much different then the tea in America: No tea bags. Many of us bought tea.

Food’s been good. People are nice. Music is great. I’m out of things to say…

Sam
Chinese birthday cake for all of us to celebrate Alyssa's 17th birthday.

A Hang Zhou speciality, steamed chicken.

Traffic is very interesting. Notice the two small children tucked between their parents.
